Food Allergies and Anaphylactic Shocks

People are more aware about food allergies these days and is because the rate of anaphylactic shocks among children has dramatically increased over the last years. Anaphylaxis is a sever allergy reaction that has different triggers including food. These Shock Episodes can drive the victim to the hospital and even to death.

An Anaphylactic Shock is defined as a widespread and very serious allergic reaction. Symptoms include dizziness, loss of consciousness, labored breathing, swelling of the tongue and breathing tubes, blueness of the skin, low blood pressure, heart failure, and death.

Anaphylaxis can be the result of some food allergic reaction.

People think of allergies as more of a nuisance than a serious health issue, food allergy in particular can be very serious, even life-threatening. The most common foods that people are allergic to include peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, soy, shellfish, fish and wheat.

Parents should consult with their children’s Doctor to know if their kid is suffering of a food allergy reaction or simply food intolerance.
